On average, how many times a day do you look in the mirror? For what reason?

I probably don't glance in the mirror often enough, as evidenced by the toothpaste stain on my shirt that I notice as I write this. But when I am writing, I am mostly checking to ensure that the troublesome internal critic, as real as he may feel, isn’t haunting me through the looking glass.

You’re trapped in a Bill Murray’s Groundhog Day time loop. What do you want to do every day for the rest of your life?

I'd spend my days at the New York Public Library, leisurely devouring every book on its shelves.

If you could invite three moments in your life to dinner, what would you invite?

I would invite the moment I met my husband, the moment I met my son, the moment I sign a big book deal (manifesting here).

What style from which decade(s) are you hoping will make a comeback?

I would love for the 1960s Mad Man era of fashion to return. It would be a delightful change from the post-COVID trend of wearing your best pajamas for Zoom calls.

For past pickers: Favorite Cherry Picking memory?

The first time my play was ever chosen to be performed, my husband was so proud and ordered a limo to take us to the venue. I feel incredibly fortunate that his support for me remains as strong today as it was then.

Deja Vu, Deja Vu or Deja Vu?

I'm casting my vote for the poem "Déjà Vu" by Carmen Giménez. Because when in doubt, poetry never goes out of style (unlike my musical knowledge).
