deja vu - Martha Epstein
Happy Wednesday! Here’s to more CP deja vu blogs! First up today is Martha Epstein!
On average, how many times a day do you look in the mirror? For what reason?
I am a bad estimator and I've never considered this before... hmm... I'd say probably somewhere between 6 and 700. I think I mostly look in the mirror out of habit (it's hard to walk by one without glancing, right?) or to assess the type of "hair day" I am having, or to see how my outfit looks, or just to remind myself of myself. Recently, I've been struck by the thought (fear?) that my FACE LOOKS DIFFERENT so I've done a shameful amount of studying myself in the mirror as I hold up photos of myself from last year and agonizing over the unstoppable passage of time and this inevitable thing called "change".
You’re trapped in a Bill Murray’s Groundhog Day time loop. What do you want to do every day for the rest of your life?
I think I lie in Prospect Park with people I love. Bring food, drinks, watercolor, conversation. The weather is perfect. I see an incredible play in the evening. Go to an amazing restaurant before the show. End the day at a bar, maybe dancing. Lying on a rooftop. My cat is invited.
If you could invite three moments in your life to dinner, what would you invite?
1) My first ever day of school with my twin brother, age 3. 2) Playing a game of cards with my 3 siblings on any family vacation 3) Watching my twin brother get engaged. I'm curious how these three moments would hang.
What style from which decade(s) are you hoping will make a comeback?
The 70s. It would make my mother so happy.
For past pickers: Favorite Cherry Picking memory?
It’s a toss-up between my grandma winning the cherry pie and the first time I heard my first cherry picking play performed (done brilliantly by Nicole Golden and Chris Tomaino)
I must be brave, vulnerable, and honest: Rodrigo.
