SH*TSHOW - David Glover!

25 DAYS TO GO! David Glover is our second blog post of the year! Cherry Picking audiences know David from his work as a CP actor and in last summer’s Man Made by Dhari Noel. For sh*tshow, David joins us as a playwright, bringing his CP game to both stage and page! Here’s how he responded to our questions:

In your opinion, what’s the biggest sh*tshow of 2023? 

The US Supreme Court

What’s your favorite mess to make?

I am a bit of a clean freak and hate messes. But playfully I love to make a mess onstage. 

Can you describe a time when you were left to clean up someone else’s mess?

Growing up I was the cleanest of my seven siblings and thus my father tasked me with cleaning the toughest things any and every time we moved; bathrooms, refrigerators, ovens etc. It's in my nature now. And now I live alone. 

What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever kept in a bathroom?

A handmade turquoise ceramic vase

What’s your biggest mistake that was worth making?

I came to NY for Grad School and I ended up leaving  before completing the program. I think about this often, how my life would have been different. But time is a wild thing and I believe in its divinity. Had I not done so, I wouldn't have had these marvelous six years in the city, the lovers, friends and muses. I certainly wouldn't have written Salvation and you wouldn't be reading this.

And of course, your favorite expletive upon witnessing a sh*tshow? 

Fuck a duck!
