Retrospect(ive): Bellow
What was your first CP year?
I belieeeeve I was just out of high school, so would have been the summer of 2005, and when Clare asked me to be involved it was one of those jawdrop moments where a TEACHER (!) / ROLE MODEL (!) asks you to come to be a part of her REAL LIFE (!) and act in front of REAL PEOPLE (!) in a BAR (!). As I recall, I played a child, and was strictly informed not to order any drinks, but it was still the most thrilling moment for me and I never looked back.
Who brought you into the CP family/ How did you get involved?
In case you didn't get this from my above answer, it was THE Clare Mottola. I met Clare when I was in 8th grade and she became the teacher I most wanted to be and to be around. She just has this infectious energy that makes you believe you can do anything. When I graduated, she cast me in a CP play, which I felt was the biggest compliment of all time. I never let her cut me loose after that.
What has been the most memorable CP play you have seen or worked on and why?
For me I think it has to be David Koteles' PRKS show from 2016 (ahh... remember summer 2016?), which was the first longer-form show I'd been a part of in many years. I had so missed digging into material and really working on a show, and I just loved working with that cast and pretending for a moment that Chris Tomaino was my real dad.
So you win the cherry pie, who are you sharing it with?
My toddler. I'll be lucky if I see a piece.
CP gives me the courage to…
Get on stage!!
What have you learned during quarantine that you’d like to carry with you in the future?
Hahahaha - the future is quarantine. Quarantine is all there is. Quarantine is forever.
Also, I learned about sourdough.
