Who or what that you follow on social media is your favorite guilty pleasure?

Since everything is so depressing I have quite a few guilty pleasures that I indulge in. One of the silliest is videos of sleepy puppies but I also follow Jay Smooth on his Ill Doctrine vlogs (I also went to high school with him so it feels extra special). Randy Rainbow’s song parodies make everything better for a few precious moments. I'm also a sucker for those TASTY cooking videos that somehow always get into my feed.

Favorite news story of the year?

The news is mostly horrifying and makes me want to eat chocolate cake and take naps… but the rising number of women running for and winning public office makes me very happy.  More of that news please.

Internet : pro or con?

It really depends on the day…. Or hour? Working and being friends with people around the country is made easier because of Facebook and Instagram but the connections, overall, feel less meaningful. I use less paper but there are, sadly, less concrete mementos. I can't remember the last time I printed a photo. I don't think I would trade it in or go back to a less media soaked time but sometimes it makes me wistful. More relationships that are somehow more superficial. Less alone yet somehow, sometimes. More lonely.

Describe your perfect tech free Sunday?

Reading a book. Seeing a real live show with my family. Cooking for a roomful of family and friends who will sit and eat and laugh and look each other in the eye and never look at a screen.

Flossing, Dabbing, Shiggy, or Shoot?

Ugh.  I went online with my daughter and found a video with a 'tween teaching parents how to floss and we learned together.  I did this on the condition that she would never again Dab in front of me. Dabbing makes me unreasonably irritated.  What the hell are Shaggy and Shoot? I think you made those up. Leave me alone, it’s time for the early bird special.
